Removal, corrections & privacy requests

Email hello@outtruth.com with the subject line Removal request and include the name shown, the source listed on the result, and a link or screenshot of the entry. We will suppress the entry from OutTruth results.

OutTruth does not hold the underlying record. Suppressing it here does not change the government, court, or licensing-board file — that must be corrected at the source.

Tell us and we will suppress the entry promptly. We do not require a court-certified document to act, and we never charge a fee. If you have documentation (an order of expunction, a disposition sheet, a dismissal notice), including it helps us match the right entry — but its absence will not stop a removal.

An arrest, booking, filing, or docket entry is not a conviction. Where a source does not publish a disposition, OutTruth labels it as unresolved rather than implying guilt.

Public records are frequently indexed against a similar name. If a result is not you, or a field is wrong, email us with the detail and we will suppress or annotate the entry. Where the error originates in the source file, each result links to the issuing authority so it can be corrected at origin.

Alongside public records, OutTruth queries a licensed commercial data provider — People Data Labs — for business-profile details such as job title, employer, and city or region. These entries are labeled unverified directory listing; they are aggregated third-party data, never a license, certification, or proof of employment.

To have yours suppressed here, email us with the subject line Directory listing removal and the name, employer, and city shown. We suppress it from OutTruth results at no charge.

To remove it at the source, submit an opt-out directly to People Data Labs at peopledatalabs.com/opt-out. That stops the data being supplied to OutTruth and to every other company using it. We are happy to walk you through it — just ask.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to access or receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of sale or targeted advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling.

To exercise a right, email hello@outtruth.com from the address on your account, or include enough detail for us to locate the record in question. We respond within 45 days (extendable once where permitted) and will tell you if we need more information to verify the request. An authorized agent may submit a request with written permission. If we deny a request you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our decision.

• We will never charge you to remove, suppress, or correct information about you.
• We will not solicit payment, subscriptions, or upgrades in response to a removal request.
• We do not source sealed or expunged records, driver or motor-vehicle records, credit files or credit-header data, or any data behind a login or privacy setting.
• We do not treat a commercial directory listing as a license, certification, or proof of employment, and we never resell or bulk-redistribute it.
• We will not provide results for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or tenant screening. OutTruth is not a consumer reporting agency.

If you believe someone is using OutTruth to harass, stalk, dox, or threaten you, email hello@outtruth.com with the subject line Report misuse. We suspend accounts for this and preserve evidence where the conduct appears unlawful.
